Award Amount: $25,000
Ministry Mission Statement: Child Evangelism Fellowship, also known as CEF, is a Bible-centered, worldwide organization composed of born-again believers whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to establish (disciple) them in the local church for Christian living.
Purpose of Grant: Expansion of evangelistic Bible Clubs in Pinellas and into Hillsborough public schools where there hasn’t been a Good News Club in over a decade! They will also be targeting around 5 of the worst performing schools in the nation (located in southern Pinellas) for a Good News Club. Church partners are ready to go! They just needed help with the funding.
Update from Child Evangelism Fellowship, March 2016
Funds were used to support 3 Good News Clubs this year. The biggest success story was the start of a Good News Club at Mitchell Elementary School, the first school Good News Club ever in Hillsborough County. And 55 children showed up for its first meeting. The 100 Shares grant paid for all the expenses for this club. Without the grant funds, this club couldn’t have started. Because this club faced many challenges getting started, it provided an opportunity to learn the process of starting Good News Clubs in Hillsborough County schools. At this time there are already 3 new clubs scheduled for next year and we expect to add at least another 4 to 5 clubs.
