2015 Annual Report
In the fall of 2013, five women met to discuss how to grow and equip generous women of the Tampa Bay area. That small conclave devoted itself to seeking God's will for our community and for the women who might one day be involved in such an effort. 100 Shares Tampa Bay (100STB) was created shortly thereafter.
Throughout 2014 and 2015, the group held small gatherings in homes, coffees and individual meetings to share the mission of 100STB. Believing God was moving us forward, we took a leap of faith and began planning to give away our first grant of $25,000 in October 2015.
Grant applications from 18 local ministry organizations were received and four finalists selected. Site visits were made to each non-profit finalist: LifeCare Network, Christian Outreach Center, Life Connections Counseling Center and Child Evangelism Fellowship. Eight site visits were held from May to August. With due diligence and prayer, 100STB selected Child Evangelism Fellowship as the 2015 recipient of the grant.
On October 15, 2015 with 45 women in attendance, 100 Shares Tampa Bay awarded its first grant of $25,000. Child Evangelism Fellowship is a Bible-centered organization composed of born-again believers whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to establish (disciple) them in the Word of God and in a local church for Christian living. The grant will allow Child Evangelism Fellowship to establish ten new Good News Clubs in Hillsborough and Pinellas County in local public schools.
By December of 2015, the five women grew into a vital organization made up of 37 like-minded partners working in community to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ by generously supporting evangelical work in the Tampa Bay area.
In April of 2016, 100 Shares Tampa Bay will award its next grant of $50,000 to a local charity with the intent of poising the non-profit to reach the next step in its development.
Together, the partners of 100 Shares Tampa Bay are making a significant impact in the community.
