2020 Annual Report

2020 has been an incredible year for 100 Shares Tampa Bay… incredible to watch the miracles God has brought to bear and like everyone else has experienced, incredibly challenging.  We crossed a major milestone in April, granting our first ever $100,000 award!  While we would have loved to celebrate that together by hugging necks and giving high fives, your ninja-like board pivoted quickly to move the celebration online. This board is such a joy to serve with!  And can you imagine a timelier opportunity to help a frontline ministry than in April of 2020?  God's timing is so perfect.

I'd like to share some other numbers with you that continue to prove God's grace toward us, the partners and the ministries He brings to us:

  • $100,000 was granted to A Door of Hope (our first ever $100,000 grant!)
  • $9,000 was granted to Tampa Muslim Outreach
  • Total granted out in six grant cycles over the last 5 years: $403,318!

You can get the complete scoop about the ministries, the precious people they serve and how the grants are taking them to the next level by visiting our website. (100sharestampabay.org)

Our partnership grew from 118 to 123 by the end of 2020, just shy of our 125 partner goal. Our goal for partnership for 2021 is 150!  We'll need God (and you!) to show up to achieve that one!

Gratefully, our site visits took place before the pandemic took root and spread.  We had a wonderful turnout and are fondly remembering being able to be together!  Site visits will look different in the face of COVID19, but we're praying everyone will still "come" and "bring a friend". Site visits are one of my favorite parts as we learn about the frontline ministries and warriors right here in Tampa Bay.  God is up to something big in the community and site visits give us a front row seat!

We received 21 grant applications this year which seems to be just enough since we received 22 last year.  After much research and a season of prayer, the four finalists were announced at a hybrid Fall Reveal held at Calvary Chapel (thank you Calvary!) where 50 partners attended in-person and 46 joined us online, which combined is more than last year's 88 attendees!  Created Women, Fresh Start Ministries, Man Up and Go and Tampa Urban Young Life shared with us how the grant funds would impact their ministries and change lives for Christ.  Site visit dates were shared and have since "gone live" for registration on our website.

The board of trustees added quite a few members in late 2019 early 2020 which we shared about previously, so this year we have been learning our new roles and growing together through this COVID19 experience. It's been a stretching, out of the box, way outside our comfort zones kind of year!  We've added several community group experiences through our prayer ministry and they have been truly transformational.  I encourage you to participate as soon as you can!  When we're able to offer the next one, we will post it on our events page.  Be sure to sign up quickly for the limited virtual seats!

We've also taken the opportunity this year to build our committees and empower them to do more of the work so the board level is as streamlined as possible.  As a working board, we're doing everything we can to simplify and make the work as efficient as possible.  We're always looking for good committee members so please reach out through our website if you have an interest.

Despite the challenges of this year, 100 Shares Tampa Bay continues to flourish as we unite generous, like-minded women to impact our community in a way that honors God with the resources He has entrusted to us.  Miraculously, we are still on track to reach our goal to grant a cumulative amount of $1.8 million and reach a partnership goal of 260 by the year 2027. We know it is a big goal that only God can accomplish so we continue to seek His wisdom in all that we do. We are grateful for each partner, for each ministry and for God's grace to continue the work He has set before us.
